In my previous writing, the focus was on experience and was more existential. Here I continue the work this time I am more inspired by two things. Once is epistemology and the other is Andy Warhol. Both metaphysics and existence are foundational for a well grounded aesthetics and Warhol (along with the wave of advertising in the 60s) may have broached for the first time the discussion of art vs craft along with this concept that every every person, every group, every thing has some type of image in has imposed upon it a meaning and therefore is subject to reputation, image, brand and is marketable. In the case of persons we can opt to perform all those roles ourselves rather than passively allow them to be prescribed to us.
Is this a new* area of philosophical research? Or have I just been unable to find materials on this thinking?
I have sketched a map of these ideas:
* As with all philosophy, it is man's role to merely uncover what is already there.
